I have a 2017 13 inch Macbook pro and i recently reinstall the system with a fresh install of Catalina, install chrome and all my apps etc, when i go to about in google chrome it says that i have version "Version 86.0.4240.183 (Official Build) (x86_64)" installed, The confusing part is the "x86_64" text, Do i have the 64 bit version of Chrome installed? What does x86 mean? I know that on Catalina everything needds to be 64bit to function properly so i'd like to make sure i have the proper and most optimized version of google chrome installed, Thank you

x86 refers to the instruction set used by the Intel processors Apple currently uses in their Mac products, while 64 indicates it's the 64-bit version of the software. You have the right version.

Thank you, much appreciated. I thought I had some wrong “legacy” version installed or something of that nature. I download chrome directly from Google’s website 2 weeks when I did a fresh installation of Catalina and don’t see how I could have possibly downloaded a wrong version as there was only one button that said “Download Chrome” but the x86 thing was throwing me off when I looked in the About screen in google chrome so I wanted to make sure I had the proper version installed, Thanks again
