Hi. I've pretty much decided to put a GTX 750Ti in my early 2009 Mac Pro. Can I leave the original GT120 in there as well? I probably don't need it but I figured that as the new card is pretty easy going in terms of power consumption, perhaps I could leave the old card in there, just in case I ever need to access the EFI boot menu for diagnostic or recovery purposes or whatever. On the other hand, I guess I could just take the GT120 out and leave it on the shelf for that purpose.

People do both. I've kept my GT120 in my 2009 almost since the day I got it, I just have it run a supplemental monitor. I have it running in Slot 2, the 750Ti will fit into Slot 1 just fine.

Added benefit as I see it is that if Yosemite has an update or for some reason the web drivers dont initialize its easier to debug. Others just keep the card around and throw it into the system when they encounter these issues. I prefer not to have to get down and do that for such incidents. Its a matter of preference really at this point thanks to good Nvidia drivers.

Thanks for that. I think I'll leave it in for now, might as well really.
