I bought retail version of Orange Box for PC like, 2 years ago, and recently Steam service has been released to Mac platform.
The question is, do I have to repurchase the games in Orange Box package in order to play on Mac (via steam of course)?

Nope.

Of course not, fool!

As of now I think the only game that isn't available on mac is tf2, but it will be very shortly. The rest of the games will be shown on Steam as not downloaded, just click there to install and have fun!

Hmm, then why did I have to rebuy it?

Steam Play says that you don't. Didn't. As long as you log into the same account used originally in Windows, your games should have appeared there.

You could talk to them about getting a refund. I would, at least. :(

Thanks a lot for the answers.
I guess miles was wrong there, but thanks anyway for your help.

That sucks Miles. How long ago did you get it for Mac? Definitely ask for a refund.

Yes you do have to re-buy it, he stated he didn't buy on steam so he bought it in CD form meaning its ONLY for pc.

Actually when I bought the retail version of Orange Box, Steam is still required, so it's all the same between retail version and online steam version of the game.

This is from the Steam Mac Forum.

The Orange Box

If I purchase "The Orange Box" in real life, Can I use the code to download the Mac version?
Yes. The code links the software with your Steam account. This means that you can download the game pack onto your PC or Mac.

Not another one of these threads!

NO. Steamplay means, if you at any point bought Orange Box for PC in any format whatsoever then you will own the Mac version too. You will NOT OWN Team Fortress 2 yet as they're still working on the Mac Port but you will have free access to it once it is available. Valve said this moments after announcing Steam for Mac and they keep repeating it.

Come on guys. We're supposed to be the elite of computer users ;).
