LEt night my 3gs stuck on apple boot logo. After se wrap reboots finally iTunes recognized the phone but forced me to restore with 3.1.3

my firmware now is 5.12.01

so no chance of JB now? I don't have a mac. Only PC

It it not possible to jailbreak a 3GS already on 3.1.3. If you have your 3.1.2 SHSH saved (either on Saurik's server via Cydia or locally via Umbrella) then you can downgrade to 3.1.2 and jailbreak. Otherwise you will not be able to jailbreak for the foreseeable future.

There are several threads on the first page of this very forum which would have answered your question. In fact, there is one entitled "Jailbreaking a 3GS 3.1.3 using Windows" just four threads below yours.

So let me get this right... You were jailbroken.. And didn't take the 2 secs to have cydia AUTOMATICALLY back up your keys for you..

Once 3.1.3 and each new firmware is released Apple stops signing/releasing the keys for the old firmware like 3.1.2 for example.
In that case if you buy a new 3GS iphone with 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 is already out Cydia or anyone will not be able to get their SHSH's thru Apple for 3.1.2
So alot of people have no choice on the matter and cannot downgrade or restore to anything but the latest firmware thats out.
