I just ordered a pretty expensive device that requires USB 2.0 yesterday. I just now happened to notice that it requires USB 2.0. I have a Mac Pro 3,1 (Early 2008). How do I tell which version of USB my Mac Pro has?

Thanks, that's reassuring. I clicked on the USB listing in my "about my mac" section and here's a picture of what it shows. It looks like the version under the High-Speed section is 1.01. Does that mean I only have version 1?

All Mac Pros have USB 2.0. For reference: http://support.apple.com/specs/

Ok, thank goodness! (because my purchase was non-returnable). Thanks, guys. You made my week.

.

No. USB1 is called "Full Speed". USB2 is called "Hi Speed". So you have a revision of USB2. As has been said, all Mac Pros have USB2.

Do they even make USB 1.1 devices anymore? I mean besides keyboards and stuff like that.
The only thing that has USB1.1 in my apartment is my Onyx Blackjack soundcard and PowerMac G4 Cube :)

Coincidentally, the recording equipment I'm replacing uses USB 1. I'm replacing it with a new interface, requiring USB 2, hence what this thread was all about.:D
