I've been waiting, and continue waiting, to buy my first intel machine. Have ordered CS3 though.
I do mainly heavy photoshop work and would often have illustrator, acrobat working at the same time. I don't do multimedia or gaming.
So is there any benefit of 8 cores over 4 for me? would I be better of spending the extra cash on ram?:confused:

No, unless you are running multiple instances of each of those applications at any given time. In most cases, you will not see a benefit that outweighs the cost of moving to the Ocho.
