Hi! After reading many threads about networking I think I have a decent idea about setting mine up but I hit snag that I could not find the answers to in the other threads. Here's what I have:

* PC notebook w/wireless card
* ibook G4 with internal airport card
* Mac Cube w/out internal airport card
* DSL cable from SBC Yahoo hooked up to the Cube. DSL device has phone jack, 1 ethernet port, 1 USB port.
* A Linksys WRT54G Router with 4 ethernet port and a port called "internet"

The PC and Cube were previously set up and working fine but I just got the new ibook and wanted to add it onto the network wirelessly.

So I plugged my DSL cable (ethernet) that runs from my Cube into the router port labeled "internet" and then joined the router to the DSL device at one of the 4 ethernet router ports with another ethernet cable.

After this, my ibook was connected to the network wirelessly but the Cube no longer has internet access.:( If my Cube had another ethernet port I could just plug it into the router but it does not. Do I need a hub (and how does that work) or could I maybe use a USB to ethernet adaptor and plug that into my Cube by way of the router??

Any help is much appreciated....I'm rather confuzzled :confused:

It sounds like you had cables running around in a circle! :eek:

You want this setup:

- DSL modem hooked to the phone line (phone cable)
- DSL modem's ethernet port hooked up to the Internet port on the Linksys (ethernet cable)
- Cube hooked up to one of the ports labeled 1-4 on the Linksys (another ethernet cable)
- All other devices connect wirelessly.

You do not need any additional hardware. But there should only be one connection between the router and the DSL modem, and one connection between the router and the Cube. There should be no physical connection between the Cube and the DSL modem directly.

Read your router manual, first.
