Hi guys,

I haven’t had a new iPad since a few years ago. I really love the look of the new 11” iPad Pro. I currently use a 2018 15” MB Pro as my everyday computer. I don’t know what the iPad would be for however.

What do you guys use your iPads for ? And do you use it as a secondary device to a Mac?

Thanks

I use it as a secondary consumption device and less a for creating stuff right now.

When the serious photo apps launch, I can see using it more for end to end workflows.

Need is a strong word. You don’t need anything really.

But if you can afford it buy it.

I upgraded from a gen 1 iPad 12.9 and I’m absolutely loving the new one with the new smaller size but with the same screen

I recently sold my iPad Air (Gen.1) and am really eager to see the performance increase and new features (e.g. proper splitscreen with didn't work on my version). Couldn't resist the 12.9. Apart from that, my wife would really like to try drawing capabilities of the Apple Pencil Gen.2. :D

My iPad is my main computing device. Why bother getting one if you don’t even know what you would use it for? In addy, as a secondary or less often used device the entry level iPad might easily suffice.

iPad pros are too expensive to be impulse buys. Pick up a 10 inch Amazon tablet on black Friday instead. Who knows, maybe youll get lucky and get it for under 100 bucks.

iPads are great secondary devices. Much easier to whip out compared to a laptop...especially when on a plane or traveling.

Document reviews are better than on a phone, magazines, movies, newspapers, videos.... the list goes on and on.

I hate typing on phones when I have to rip off a few quick emails.

The camera and video are good as well.

Of course, every person’s need is different based on their job and lifestyle!

Look at both the new 2018 and the older 2017 iPad Pros side by side, try them both and like me find buying the 2017 will work just fine and save you a bunch of money.

My new IPad is my only Computer::)
