Do I need a screen protector with aluminum series 2 Watch?

Just bought my first Apple Watch (aluminum silver Series 2 38mm) and am wondering if anyone who's had the Sport for awhile can weigh in on the usefulness or necessity of a screen protector. I always use a case and screen protector on my phone but am thinking it will ruin the look of the watch although I am concerned about normal wear and tear. Please share your thoughts, any pics of wear and tear, and recommended screen protectors.

I normally have a case on my phone... went screen protector-less for the 6. For the 7, though.. I put a skin on it and have been using it without a case and now I don't know how I could have ever used a case to begin with!!

When I bought the watch (series 2 42 MM space gray aluminum), I decided to get apple care and not worry about it... Day one of owning the thing, I dropped it about a foot onto a wooden table and was immediately regretting not at least putting a screen protector on the watch, but it was fine.

Since then, it's had occasional bumps and whatnot, but no visible signs of damage anywhere. I'm continuing to not worry about it. I know that 3 weeks isn't quite the same as 2 years, but this is my 2 cents.

I ran my S0 without a screen protector and with. I kinda of didn't like when it was on there but what happens when I removed it? Bumped it ever so slightly and left some little scratches that bothered me till I sold it. Now I have the S2 and am considering the protector.

This is my wife's 38mm sport that I got her for Christmas last year. As you can see, she's not the best at protecting her watch and this is the result. The lighting here really reveals these scratches, in real life they are not as visible especially when the screen is on.

If you think you will be hard on it, I would still recommend a protector.

Thanks for the pic - it seems like it may be more prone to scratching than the phone. I think I will get one of the Spigen protectors and at least try it. I am careful but things happen. I plan on passing mine on to a family member when they eventually release a cellular model so I want to keep it in good shape.
