Do I need both Apple Music and iTunes Match?

I have been using iTunes Match since it came out here in Australia and have started using Apple Music this year now that it's available. My iTunes Match is up for renewal and I'd like to know since I also have Apple Music is there any reason to renew my iTunes Match?

I know Apple says the services are complimentary to each other but they look like overlapping services to me.

Do you have all the music you own stored locally with backups? If yes then you don't need to keep Match.

I am keeping it for now. This could include a lot more detail but I will get to the point of why I am. Match and Apple Music will perform the same function of making your music collection available on your devices. With match, if you delete a song from your desktop and later download it again, you get a DRM free 256kbps copy. With Apple Music you get a copy with Apple Music DRM enabled. Long term, this is an issue that is worth deciding to pay for Match or not syncing your music or as suggested earlier, have a copy locally that later in life you can use to overwrite the Apple Music DRM songs with. For now the choice for me has been to keep Match so that I have less steps to deal with in the future.

That said, there are many times I think why not just let it go. Stop paying for Match and just assume that long term I will be renting a music feed since my collection will most likely not grow from purchases and the music is just getting older. I like the songs but I wonder if its worth the drive space, dealing with protection of the songs if I lose or replace my machine, etc. Right now, its still worth it but it not as big a deal now as it once was. (for me) It used to be the only way to get and take music was to collect it. Now that we have several sources with it all available the only reason to collect any longer is to be a collector and to possibly save a monthly fee if you ever get tired of paying.

I'm in the same boat as well. Looking at doing Apple Music. I just bought a full Sonos setup last week, in preparation for the Apple Music app on Sonos system.
