Hi guys,

My girlfriend had just got back from the US and purchased me the new Apple TV with the awful interface.

I have a few hundred gigs of movies that I have accumulated over the years - Am I right that short of waiting for the new Jailbreak to come out, I have to convert them into MP4s for them to be able to be streamed?

Thanks!

Honestly, I would convert them to mp4 anyway...most devices recognize it just as well or better than most other containers, so it would benefit you to do it anyway. I know it's a pain, but I did it and am glad I did. I have a little over 1TB over movies and TV shows.

If your waiting for the jailbreak to be released, then wait and get XBMC to stream the AVIs this way you don't have to convert anything. plus XBMC can support a ton of different file formats
