I am currently on the iOS 9 public beta. When the official iOS 9 release is published on 16 September, do I need to first downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 before I can upgrade, or will I be able to update directly?

Thanks in advance for your help. :)

The 9.1 beta was made available to us as a public beta testers and I'm currently on 9.1, will I need to downgrade so I can install the final version of iOS 9 when it becomes available to the public OTA?

Is the GM the same thing? All I am seeing is a prompt to download iOS 9.1 beta.

yes the gm will be whats going live in 4 days, unless some major serious bug like freezing the device comes up, which 99% of the time doesnt happen. u see update prompt for ios 9.1 beta cause of ur public beta profile, since apple is still doing public betas & 9.1 public beta 1 was released already. gm is not over ota anyway ull need to use itunes if u want it now, it will be made ota when its public
