Do I Need to Keep a macOS App Once I Installed It

I updated my mac computer to High Sierra, 10.13.4, and have since updated to 10.13.6, but I still the macOS installer High Sierra 10.13.4 app on my computer. I want to free up disk space on my computer, is it safe to delete this installer? or does my mac need it to operate?

Once a macOS has been installed, do I still need the installer app or DMG on my macs internal hard drive for those operating systems to operate be it for my mac main boot drive or for a virtual machine?

You don't need it, you can get rid of the installer.

The installer is usually deleted after installation, unless you copy it to nother location.

IK, thanks, deleted the installer, freed up some needed disk space.
