hey all,

I've been running a first-gen iPhone unlocked using pwnage on 1.1.4 on t-mobile for quite a while. This morning I had to stop by ATT to talk to them about my phone and see if I could sign up for a pay as you go plan to get it serviced under warranty, and I did a restore to the apple 1.1.4 firmware using iTunes. Afterwards, when I went to restore to my custom, unlocked firmware, I get the 'error 1604' message, and can't restore to my unlocked firmware.

Did I need to do something else (like, un-boot neuter) before restoring to the apple firmware? Do I need to rerun the pwnage tool to make this work on 1.1.4? Is there any danger in re-pwning my phone if I try it out and it's already been pwned?

Thanks for any and all advice you have for this. I'm stumped, and right now my only option appears to be to go to ATT and sign up for a pick-your-plan and become legit. I really need a working phone right now.

yes, you need to re-pwn it

Thanks, I'll do that. Just so I know for the future, is that the best way to basically un-pwn your phone if you're taking it in, to just full on restore to an apple firmware with iTunes? Or should I have done some other un-neutering or such first?

Thanks for your help.
