Is that the only way to get it to landscape

I'm also curious about this. Mine will start in landscape, but if I pause the video, it goes to portrait and refuses to go back unless I turn the rotation lock off. Annoying.

Yeah it is.

IMO I don't think a video should go Vertical at all, but I guess some users would prefer it that way.

Or, just turn off rotation lock permanently.

I'd rather not. It's annoying to have the screen rotating when I don't want it to. The ONLY things I want landscape for are videos and games. I'll take everything else in portrait. Thank you.

Yes, you need to manually disable orientation lock every time you want to watch a video and then re-enable it once you're done watching videos. Very annoying.

What's especially obnoxious is that videos ignore the mute setting. It's completely backwards. I wish videos respected the mute switch but ignored orientation lock.

Hopefully someone at Apple actually uses mute, orientation lock, and videos and realizes how poor this experience is. And fixes it.

It was always Apple's intention for the "mute" switch to only disable certain, unavoidable sounds like notifications and the keyboard click. With a complete mute performed by holding the volume down button for a couple seconds.

You view safari in portrait? It makes the text too small for me.

Yep. I always use Safari in portrait. I might have to zoom a few things but mostly don't have a problem.

*cough* Text wrapping in Safari would be nice. *cough*
