I have an imac 24 comming the day after the keynote and I'm wondering what opinion is on what I should do if there is a serious update. I've pretty much wrangled a copy of iLife outa them, but if they do a big upgrade such as increaseingthe FSB to 800, or do away with the hardware limmitations that allow it only address the current 3 gig of ram (eurgh), should I simply send it back before I receive it, or try to haggle for a discount? Do you guys even think a discount is possible? If they had to sell it as a refurb, they would loose a load and have to pay for further shipping...

Don't even open it. You can return it or exchange it if it hasn't been opened. Unless it BTO, in which case you might have trouble returning it.

Edit: Also, what the heck does the title of this thread mean?

I meant cheers in a wierd voice, not that your advice is cheese. It was good, that makes me feel a bit safer about the whole thing.

Just because you open it and use it doesn't mean you can't send it back for a full refund. I think you get a grace period where you can get Apple pick it up and refund you for any reason at all. 7-14 days or something like that?
