Other Do iPhone Apps have Ads?

Sorry for the newbie question but I gotta ask. I'm a longtime Mac user and want to switch from Android to an iPhone. On my Android I side loaded a VPN ad blocker block-this.com, and the experience is entirely ad free.

With an iPhone will there be popup ads or ads within apps? Do you find them intrusive? I assume I can't install a VPN type ad block on an iPhone unless it's jail broken, which I don't want to do.

I think I know were you coming from since I use both Andriod and IOS. In Android, ads instantly appeal when you open the lock screen and when you load apps to. In IOS no ads occur. If you use a web browser, you will get ads from webpage you have loaded and also on apps like Youtube. The App Store may have apps that block them from coming up but I think it might be specific to the app like YouTube. Have not investigate this. Maybe someone who hates ads can answer this question.

There are “content blockers” for safari, which are just ad blockers. You can’t disable ads in third party apps though (like YouTube) without paying money. There will be no ads in any native iOS apps though or on the lock screen or home screen. Only some third party apps if that’s how the developers make revenue. There are no system-wide ad blockers allowed, even though VPN, that I’m aware of.

android can have SYSTEM WIDE ad blocking AND analytics blocking. android can have browsers with ad block built in. android has a youtube alternative that blocks every single ad and even forces the videos to play a high resolution. apple doesn't have any of that. end of discussion.

Use Ad Guard Pro and most in game ads are gone. Also deactivate mobile data for these apps (if possible) and it will obviously not load the ads

U don’t need jailbreak. And yes U can do basically all that. Google tweakbox for iOS.

Still works fine using their VPN option for me
