I bought my MBP C2D about 6 weeks ago it did not have 802.11n enabled. To get it I had to purchase the enabler. I believe that you will need to run the enabler that is on the disc that came with your AirPort Express base Station to get the benifits of n.

Or buy the n Enabler download from the Apple Store.

Why buy it if it came bundled with his AirPort Extreme Base Station for free? To me it does not make much sense to spend money if you don't have to.

This is a kick in the nuts. I bought my Airport Extreme and MBP (4 days ago) at the same time. I bought the N enabler...didnt know it came with it. Being out 2 bucks for a mistake isnt too bad though.....

If you run the Network Utility un Utilities folder it will tell you what modes your wireless card has when you select it.

I was hoping that there'd be a software method of determining if the 'n' is enabled. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to just run the installer. I'll give that a try.

Thanks

I meant for those without the new AirPort Extreme base stations.
