I would like to just get my DND back the way it was before ios15.
When I set a timer for DND in Focus, ALL notifications are disabled despite me scheduling a time.
First I thought it didn't understand 20:45-5:00 so I changed it from 20:45-23:59 and added 0:00-5:00 but nothing, no notifications.
When I turn it off (screenshot below) I get notifications as usual.

Anyone figured it out yet?

This is how I’ve got mine setup and seems to work perfectly.

Make sure you don’t have the switch flipped at the top, as that just turns it on. You need the above to say on.

Thanks here also. I had to run thru those instructions and settings several times before I finally got it to schedule correctly.

I sure liked the older way better, but overall iOS 15 is a keeper.

I have mine setup the same but zero notifications came through. didn't even show on the lock screen like DND did before. had to pull down to display the notification center for them.

why they got rid of this is absurd IMO.

Why don’t you use sleep mode and set that up in apple health
I tried Sleep mode and then got notifications to Sleep and weird popups in the AM. DND was so simple... now I have to jump through hoops just to get my phone to stop notifications at night UNLESS it is unlocked like it used to. WTF... I can't be the only one who used it this way???

worked perfectly!
I happened to be on the phone at 20:45 yesterday and a notification popped up saying DND is now on.
And at 5:00 this morning all the overnight notifications popped up.
So I'm back to where I wanted to be :)

I have Focus disabled. I don't see or have the need for Focus. It's another useless modification from Apple.

In DND the notifications were silenced when unlocked but you could access them from Notification Center? How is the new setup different?

When using DND pre-15, notifications were silenced if the device was not active. But they were allowed when the device was being used. Now in DND notifications are silenced whether the screen is active or NOT.

To be honest, I havent touched anything in focus mode or DND and it still works exactly the same as the old way, as far as I can tell. You switch it on and you’re not disturbed, you turn it off and its back to all notifications. Aside from messing with the new stuff there, how is it’s default any different from the old way?

EDIT: oh, I didn’t see the above response. Can’t say I noticed as I only really ever use do not disturb when I‘m not using my phone - but yes I can see how this is annoying!

Actually, I just retested after turning FOCUS off... You may be correct. DND appears to work the way it did. If the phone is locked the notifications are silenced, but if unlocked they still are audible. I think messing with Focus had my phone screwed up.

I edited my post with the above.. I wouldn’t know as I dont use DND in that way, I only use it when dont want to be disturbed by my phone, ie - not using it

Understood. I like that if I am using my phone during NORMAL sleeping hours and I get a text it lets me know. That was my only gripe. Didn't want those silenced if I was actually using my phone.
