Hi all,

I have just updated to iOS 15 and realised that it doesn't work as well as the old one.

I want do not disturb to be turned on all times but when I am using my phone, I want the notifications to still show up when I receive them. I realise that it no longer show up and I am wondering if this is a bug? For example when I am in Safari and I receive a message from Telegram, there are no notifications being shown and this has caused me to miss out important messages. I know I can allow exceptions for apps but that will wake the phone up while it's asleep which I find it irritating.

Are there any solutions to this?

Thank you!

This has been asked multiple times and seemingly no unfortunately we can’t. I am with you and the others who have mentioned this. When I am using my phone I want to see the notifications like it was on iOS 14. I find this absolutely crazy that there is no option to see them anymore.

Just put the phone on mute but remove do not disturb?

That’s a way around it or just disable do not disturb when using the phone. But this is a regression, not an improvement. There should be an option to still have notification showing when actually on the phone. This is a massive step back.

Do you think this is a bug?

No. It’s been gone since B1 and people have been complaining about it from the start. If it was a bug, it would have been fixed.
:( and I thought we will see improvements and not frustrations

If only that last sentence was true. Loads of bugs still existing from Beta 1 but that’s another story.

This would be an easy bug to fix though. Since there is no longer an option in the settings, it seems totally intentional. Now it’s all or nothing. Yet another choice taken away from the consumer by Apple.

Same here, annoying indeed. Never knew how much I missed it until they've removed it. It makes logical sense that you would want the option to see notifications if you are actively using your iPhone / iPad even during DND mode. Why they removed that is beyond me. Even though it doesn't look like a bug, I really hope they re-enable this in future.

is the only way is to really off do not disturb when using the phone and turning it on when put to sleep?
