Does anyone know where iOS 12.x is getting the time information from? When I wake up in the morning, I look at my phone and it tells me the weather conditions for the day. What I have never been able to figure out is where is iOS getting my time zone from as it seems to be wrong.

I live in South Florida, but the welcome screen that tells me the weather conditions for the day always seems to have the wrong temperature!

Help!

Settings>Privacy>Location Services>Weather>Always

Test again in the morning to see if the temp is right.

There is no weather choice under this setting on my iPhone Xs....

Do I need to reinstall the apple weather app?

Weather is a stock app. Location services will include the weather setting for always which you need for this to work. When you open the stock weather app, what location is shown? If not local then you have your answer. This will not use a 3rd party app.

Ok... I just reinstalled the Apple Weather app and I made sure it has my local city.

By calling this app a “stock app” I am not certain if you meant an app that is included on a new iPhone or and app that cannot be removed/deleted from iOS, such as Find my Phone, Health or Wallet.

I’ll test tonite and report...

Thanks!

Stock meaning comes preloaded with a new device.

I have never seen the welcome screen ! How do you get it ?
Use Do Not Disturb. When you get up in the morning it will be on the lock screen.

I’m pretty sure it requires bed time and DND. I’ve been using DND for years and this does not appear for me with iOS 12.

Ok, it worked!

Apparently ones needs to have the Apple weather app pointing to the current location and location services as “always allow” as you mentioned.

I originally deleted the Weather app as I have others that are much better.

If one deletes the apple app, I think the phone defaults to the weather in Cupertino, California.

Cheers!

That could be, I do use both features and didn't think about it in my earlier reply.

Correct. DnD and Bedtime DnD mode along with "Always" for Weather location services.
