I have this app that has just been update with a new feature I dont like. I do not want it, as I am happy with the current version. But I see the stupid badge icon above the appstore icon and its bugging me. Can anyone help?

Nope. Is that seriously bugging you enough to start a thread about it? If it is that eye-burning, then move the App store icon onto the last page or something. 
I believe if you download a new app and then halt the download by turning off your iPhone which will reset the badges, but if you ever go into the app store that one will just come back. It would be better to just do what jmann suggested.
The only app i do not want to update is C64 because if i do, BASIC will be gone.
Right click an app from the iTunes and select "Show in Finder" then drag'n drop the .IPA to an external hard drive.
