The latest from Sony (linked video below) got me thinking about this question. Apple's "pro" iPhones have the better screens and cameras, but that about audio components?

Right. I don't think there are many "pro" audio folks that don't have a digital audio device connected to their computer via USB, Thunderbolt or PCI. I wouldn't expect a computer or a phone to ever have 1/4" and XLR inputs, microphone preamp, phantom power etc.
 
Considering the fact that iPhone audio is now handled by a DAC built into the EarPods or Apple’s lightning to 3.5mm adapter.
Something tells me there is no pro audio chips in the pro phones
