The 2016 MBP I previously used had an annoying popping noise that occurred when the computer was under a high workload. This was a notable issue since many others complained about it online. I believe the leading theory was related to some sort of adhesive near the display assembly that would expand under heat and cause the pop noise.

Wondering if this is still the case in the 2017 models or if some fix has been found.

At least with the 7 or so display 2017 models, even under a sustained load, they do not exhibit this behavior.
