As the title states. I currently own a pair of Airpods Pro, and they are absolutely fantastic to use, but the left Airpod has developed a crackling issue so bad that it's unusable except in "off" mode, which is how I've been using them for nearly a year now.

This pair is originally from late 2020, and has been replaced under the special warranty service for the crackling issue. However, as the issue developed again after ~2 years in spite of it being "fixed", my confidence in these is low. Did Apple fix this issue with the Airpods Pro 2? As they are a little too pricey to simply buy new ones every two years.

I upgraded to the Pro 2's from the pros with the clicking in November 2023, and haven't had any issues with the clicking on the pro 2's. YMMV but get AppleCare and you should be fine.
