iPod Do the playback/volume controls of the in ear headphones work with macs?

I am considering purchasing these new headphones along with a new ipod, and I was wondering whether or not the volume/playback controls worked on a macbook/other mac. I don't know whether or not the computers support the additional ring on the jack of the headphones.

Can anyone confirm what remote functionality works with them, if anything?
