Hi All,

I ride bicycles and get awfully sweaty.

The Nike plastic strap has been great for 3 years. But rubbish for keyboard typing. After ride, I would douse it in soap and wash off.

How have you found washing the sports loop after sweaty sports?

Do you periodically give it a proper soaking To get rid of all the gunk and sweat?

Regards
Martin

Similar to sport bands, I rinse the watch and loop quickly at the beginning of my shower after a hard workout. But, yeah, for light colored ones where I can see they are getting dingy over time, I wash with soap and water. You can even throw them in the washing machine.

Hi D,

Chuck it in the washing machine every so often, thats a great idea, thanks :)

Forgive the million and one questions on the forum here. Really good to learn from other people experiences.

I’ve pretty much gone from the solo loop to these sports loops to try 1st etc.

I do outdoor runs at lunchtime in Georgia (US). So as you might imagine, I have a good familiarity with sweat.

Back in pre-covid days when using lockerroom at work, I'd just shower with the watch and it'd get well rinsed. These days I more often just rinse in the sink after a run.

Even months later, no issues with the sport loop.

Yeah, with my Nike band, I'll run it under water and rub it with my fingers after every workout. If I sweated especially hard (in summer) - I'll use a little bit of bar soap - maybe every other time?

I run my fingernail around the underside dial to keep gunk from growing/gathering around that - every few days.

This has kept my Apple Watches 100% clean over the last 3 years.
