An apple store is about to open in my city and i have heard from previous openings that apple is known to give out T-shirts, imacs, macbooks, ipods and more! Is this true or is it worth me waiting in line all night just to have a chance for a free piece of sweet apple hardware?! sorry i know this has nothing to do with the iPhone but i was just wondering!

Do you have to buy anything to get the free shirts/giftcards or just show up to check it out? The Apple store near me is opening at the end of september (or so I hear).

NYC
They gave away a Macbook every hour for 24 hours when the 5th Ave. store opened in NYC a coupla years ago.

By contrast, I happened to be at the store opening in Peoria, IL in May. It was just me and the manager, Tony. Not a big Apple town I guess. He gave me half of his Snickers.

Okie land
Here in Okie land it was T-Shirt's. And it wasn't nearly as crowded as it is when a new Walmart open's. :D

Yes I know... red state with right wing nut job's. Very scary for me... :D

When they opened the Apple Store in Vancouver, Canada, there were only T-Shirts. I'd go anyways though, it's a good experience.

My family is from Oklahoma and they swear that their WalMart has everything...LOL :p

I live in Norman, born and raised in Oklahoma, and Wal-Mart has to be the single worst experience one can have. So crowded, and if I have to deal with one more retard who can't handle the self-checkout line (you know what I mean, the ones who take a year to find the darn barcode) one more time, I might go postal. :)

As far as right-wing nuts, (I myself am an independent) I think it is funny that our Governor is a Democrat, yet OK has not voted Democratic in a Presidential election since LBJ. The reality is that OK democrats are really more toward the center than they admit. The state is pretty socially conservative across the board.

I only go to the Neighborhood Market version of Walmart. Self-checkout should be used as a sort of darwin test. Is it really that hard to scan f**king item's? Really? WTF?

I'll be voting for Obama, but I doubt he'll break the Republican streak in Okie land. After all he doesn't have the lottery to help him. *sigh*

Most likely not, that is only with their big retail stores opening (5th Ave, and the other most recent NYC opening). I don't even think that the Boylston Street Apple Store in Boston gave anything away other than free T-Shirts, and that is the biggest Apple Store in the U.S.

Only Flagship stores have giveaways. SoHo, SFO, 5th Ave, Michigan Ave.

I suspect that when they do finally open an Apple Store in Downtown Seattle, that they will have giveaways.
