Hello! Not sure if this is known or not, but can USB webcams (Logitec, Elgato, Razer, etc) use the M1 image signal processor for better video clarity/processing? Or is this a feature reserver for only integrated apple webcams like on the iMac and MBPs, etc?

Thank you!

Where is this specified??
It’s specified in the M1 Air and M1 Pro main product pages. I suppose there is an outside chance that the ISP in the M1 can process video not coming from the built-in webcam, but I doubt Apple is doing that. I fail to see the point, regardless, as any external webcam you’re going to want to use is going to have a higher resolution than 720p and most of the 1080p or 4K webcams already have better optics, aperture, etc. than Apple’s webcam. Not to mention, using an iPhone or an iPad with a much better FaceTime HD camera or a supported DLSR with software is better than buying a webcam if a better picture is needed for video conferencing.
