That is my question. I was looking for an adblocker for safari. Purchased wipr for safari iPad. Now when I am trying to install it in my M2 air via App Store it shows that payment needs to be made again. Is it just for iOS devices that you make payment once and download it again or does it apply to Mac/iOS common apps too?

there is one app for iPad & iPhone and one app for Mac. So, you can install the app you purchased on your iPad on an iPhone, but you have to pay to install the Mac app.

I purchased Wipr a few months ago on both iOS and MacOS and they are both phenomenal

thanks for the replies. just wanted to confirm. its working beautifully on iPad so I guess I will purchase the Mac version too.
