Hi, I am considering buying a macbook right now but I am torn between MBA and MBP. If the redesigned MBPs start from 1299, I will probably buy one of them. I found a great deal on M1 Airs that will end tomorrow, I have to choose fast, What do you guys think?

The MacBook Pro 14" and 16" models are certainly going to cost MORE than $1299.
In all likelihood, considerably more.

Timmy will grab any chance to increase prices. Always.

New screen? A few more bucks. New processor? A few more bucks. Want a new keyboard that doesn't suck? Same history. A few 'new' ports and I/O that doesn't suck? Guess what...

I think they'll stay the same. However, the 14" will take over the price point of the high end Intel 13" model, $1799.

They may make a low end 14" later but the specs and ports will be gimped compared to the high end one. Just like they were before.

Just bought a base level MBA, hopefully Apple won't be updating Air or release the new MBP at the same price. Fingers crossed 🤞

Thank you for commenting

Everything is going to be more $$, it’s bi-annual time and these models will be more feature rich than the current M1 Air and M1 MBP. If you found a great deal on something you like, go for it. If you want same form factor as a 13” MBP but with 14” of screen wait, but be ready to pay 300-500$ more for it.
