Trust them with what? I trust Apple will do what it does for it's own best interest as a business. I don't trust it to do anything else anymore than any other business would for customers. They're too big to be a passion based business. anymore vs a smaller business that was born from passion. Like Obsessed Garage a car and garage care business enthusiast.

No. I trust that Apple will always put the company before anything else, even before the people. Same goes for any company.

Therefore I live my life accordingly with a healthy dose of self protection when it comes to big tech.

I suppose I trust them as far as the laws and contracts/warrantees etc go. And I guess I trust them with my data to the extent I do keep things in the cloud. I know better to trust google that way.

And I trust their products will work as described. There will be issues like antenna gate, but nothing that cant be corrected. Been using their products for 40 years. They havent let me down, I suppose I trust their products.

But like everything else, trust but verify. I test things out during the return period. I read reviews to make purchase decisions. I don't expect Apple to act only in my best interests. They are a company to make money. Shocker.

I completely trust Apple to do what’s in their best interest.

If by completely trust you mean blindly trust them? Absolutely not! I have no reason to have blind faith in any corporation.

Pretty much this. One of the reasons why I, to a very large extent, trust Apple with my data etc is that it is in their best interest to take care of it. It is central to Apple's business model to be known as a company who are serious about their users privacy etc - hence we (the users) and Apple have shared interests on this topic.

Do you completely trust apple?

NO!
not this regime!

I have been using Macs since 1990 for work and purchased an iMac G3 in 1998.
 is a deceitful company that will ask $300 to fix a $256 watch.
their software is developed of only their benefit
as they will sabotage older OS JUST so we all download the latest one.

they proclaim updating to the latest will solve the world's problems
as that step will ALWAYS be the first remedy when things go wrong on their end.

Do i need to support my answers anymore?

now
trust is just a five letter word

will I buy an  product again?

NO!

I do not trust them completely but I do trust them to provide me computer products that for the most part work well and last a long time and rarely need repairs. I have had them (laptops, iPads, iphones, Apple Watch, etc.) since 1986. I never bought apple care and have never needed it. My last laptop a 2012 Retina just recently crashed and I replaced it with an M1. The butterfly keyboard was frustrating, I had to wait them out on that one.

Trust is earned by current actions. I have always had trust issues. So I am not objective.

That being said I trust Apple in privacy more than other corporations only in so much as it is part of their business model. Since poor privacy policies would endanger profits I have more trust in Apple for this one specific issue than other companies.

As everyone else has said at the end of the day they are a for profit company and as long as it profits them to do certain things in the interest of their customers they are trustworthy but beyond that no company is genuinely trustworthy or is inherently trustworthy.

To believe otherwise seems foolish at best in my personal opinion.

The question is simply too ambiguous to meaningfully answer. Needs more context.

Like others have already said, Apple will do what's in their best interest.

On the plus side, it is often in their best interest to avoid negative PR. I definitely agree that no company truly cares about its consumer, but they do care enough about protecting their own image to make it appear otherwise.

the way i would phrase what i feel:

i trust apple more than i trust any other company, by far.

in this world, there are reputable companies and then there are companies that actually try to cheat or defraud you.

reputable companies have great customer service. and apple has great customer service.
does apple also put out products that have been troublesome? sure. like the butterfly keyboard saga.

i trust apple more than i trust any other company, by far.
and world-wide survey results repeatedly show that most people agree.

Have seen the word verify used in this thread... not to open another can of worms, but is that even possible?

My answer to the OP's vague question? If referring to MacOS then yes, or at least certainly more than MS and Windows.

I do know that police (in my country) cannot decrypt an iPhone with iOS 18. So I trust iPhone for now.

I'm waiting for someone to say: "I quit trusting them when they promised 'Apple II forever!' and then broke that promise!"

LOL

I don’t trust Apple a lot today under Cook, I’m sceptical.
He don’t care about customers - it even sounds fake when he says something 'for our customers'.
But I still trust that they do make ok products - not necessary the products I’m always interested in though.
I'm still adjusting to the change of not being an Apple fan after Job’s died/Joni and his team left.
It have changed a lot, and it keeps changing.
