Bookmark bar is more than sufficient. Seems like it would be cumbersome to have to close safari to open a new website, especially ones I frequent a lot.

I have made a few of my favorite blogs. I figured out you can tweak the image to make a cool button by enlarging the screen image and moving it around. If they don't have an icon button installed then the button is just a screen shot of what is there when you click the add to homepage button. Only drawback is your page will open at that same magnetized place. For me it is a small price to pay for a cool button ;).

I have also done it for this site which has a favicon loaded, as do a few others... I like having certain sites extra handy.

This... I also am OCD enough that I need to keep my computer desktops clean, so that has translated into keeping my iPhone and iPad home screens fairly junk free.

I use the bookmark bar too, but if it's a site I visit very often (facebook, macrumors, various forums) I'll just leave a tab open in safari.
