When I first got the iPad on day 1, like many of you, I added so many apps on my iPad to mess around with and for friends to get a feel of what my shiny iPad could do.

(Apps Organization)

Here in June now I noticed I have a good handful of apps I use on a daily, consistent basis....and then I have a bunch of apps that are either only opened once a week for their novelty, or not at all.

Note: I should mention before I got the iPad I used my MacBook Pro mainly for productive use as I'm not one to purposefully kill time on YouTube and whatnot. The keyword here being Productivity.

Of course like everyone reading this thread we all have our most used, most favorited apps in the dock. And of course the same follows with the iPad's home screen page.

Then it varies with everyone........

After reading similar threads here I've noticed some people organize the rest of their apps in alphabetical order. Others based on category. And others continue the mantra of sorting their apps out from most used to least. Now that the iPad's novelty has worn off so have all the appsi don't really use, but still rest on the third or fourth page just in I'm bored at a dentists office someday.

Rather than asking you all how your apps are organized and if you have any interesting tips on taming the app dragon that as you know lives on seeing you procrastinate.....I'll simply ask if you even have these apps on your iPad to begin with?

After all, you yourself use the device on a daily basis. It should be molded and catered to live off on how you specifically want the device. I currently have a page with only games, though ill hardly open them..say once a week and when I do it's for no more than thirty minutes. Etc. Etc.

Whatever. Just go.

Lmao. Strickly******

I'm an inbetweener I have mostly just what I use on average daily. The clutter page i have are for potential buys (From installous. Usually if I open more than 3 times to use I buy the real deal from iTunes), and that consists of about 1/3 of a page.

Do You Have a Bunch of Apps or Stickly Only What You NEED?

I love the iPad's spell checker. Half of my posts since using the iPad to read the forum now have little erroneous ones like this too :)

I have a lot of apps that I use once in a while, but not very often. But I still like them so do not wish to delete. I bought a number of showoff apps for the iPad like Alice & Elements which other than initially showing off I do nothing with.

Oh and if it wasn't for Categories App on Cydia i would have maybe 8 pages of Apps. Now I have 2 with main ones on display and the others in folders.

I keep all my defaults on the first screen, along with my other often used apps on the first screen for easy access. My other apps of less importance are on the second screen. I don't like to keep more than two screens of apps.

Not just what I need, but definitely just what I use. I only have a couple games and the rest are apps I use regularly. I'll be able to fit all my apps on one page after 4.0 with only a few folders without too many apps.

EDIT: definitely thought this thread was about the iPhone.

I don't have an iPad as I have no use for such a device, but if I did ever get one I would cram it with games and random silly apps.

I hate clutter so I aim to get to the essentials all on a single page but I'm onto my third page at the moment.

A lot of my clutter is due to downloading multiple apps for important things (RSS readers, docs/spreadsheet apps, calculators, wikipedia readers, personal finance apps, etc) so I'm left not only with my preferred apps but also the "runner ups".

I'm not deleting all the runner up apps though because iOS will save me. My thinking is that I've spend all this money buying multiple apps and often it was a close run thing as to which one was the winner and it could change as apps get updated so I want to keep watching them and the way the AppStore app shows a badge notification for updates is great so, when I get folders with the iOS 4 update, I'll create a folder called something like "Watch List" and put all the runner up apps in there so that I don't really see them but will still get notifications when updates are available.

Yes and no. I ditched a couple but have kept a couple that never get opened. I think I'm worried about wanting it down the road (say, 6 months from now) and finding myself thinking "Crap, what was the name of that app..."

I have 76 on my iphone right now. If you had asked me to guess without counting, I probably would have said 30. Because of folders, I only have 3 pages.

I like to keep my most used on the first page. Then I keep my favorite games and utilities that I need to have quick access to (like Midomi) on the second page. All my other games on the third page and anything else on the fourth. I really want iOS 4 to come out so i can use folders. I have 106 apps on my iPhone and I managed to organize all of those into folders on 2 pages.

Its such a more pleasant experience with your apps in neat little folders.
