I found that having that having character preview and predictive text enabled is distracting. With them disabled I can text faster and if I make a mistake I tap the misspelled word and get a (usually) accurate suggestion.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Aaand I just realized I asked this in another thread…it’s been a rough couple of months y’all. Sorry for the duplicative post.

I don't know where the other thread is so I'll just answer here. I happen to find predictive text quite useful, because it often offers words & even phrases I was going to type anyway. Character preview on the other hand I could probably do without, but it doesn't bother me too much.

I find that I have to stop typing and read the predictions and decide if I’m gonna use them or not. And this breaks my flow. I’m a speed typer so it doesn’t serve me too much

If I look at the predictive texts I often find them accurate but I just keep typing since tapping those texts would actually slow me down. Character preview is good since I am looking at that spot and it's just confirmation that I am hitting the right keys.

That’s a good point. I usually watch the text box and correct as needed. If you’re watching the keyboard then it’s probably useful

But it slows you down even worse if you hit the wrong key while typing and then have to correct when you could have accepted the predictive text. Anyway, I'm usually not in a big enough hurry that it matters one way or the other. ?

Oh when I say correct it I mean click on the misspelled word and it gives me a few options, one of which is usually correct. And I do that at the end after I’ve typed it all out
