1. My screen off time stays 0 minutes (or a really low value) after having the screen off for a long time.

2. The widget for music automatically folds in every time I swipe to the widgets. In iOS11, I could tap ‘show more’ and it would stay unfolded for the whole day.

The rest of iOS12 so far is amazing!

So the two particular items that were mentioned, are you seeing those or not?

Took a look at these

1. Screen off time is not meant to measure the amount of time your screen is off, but rather the time it spends doing meaningful work while it’s off. It’ll really depend on how much works apps you have installed want to do, and how much you’ve allowed them to do (background refresh and things like that)

2. I tested this on an iPad. I don’t normally use the Music widget (I generally kick off music in the app and then make quick controls in lock/notififcation) but I added it and it’s just not working at all. It just says “No recently played music” even though I just played several tracks and even killed and restarted the Music app  I’m going to drop a note at https://www.apple.com/feedback/.

iOS 12 is looking great but there are definitely a few little bugs here and there.

Thanks for the reply! I didn’t know that about the screen off time.

Not your fault at all. Even the manuals don’t cover this feature well. iOS has gotten more complex over the years and added more caveats and lore that’s simply passed through longer term users, rather than being clearly documented in one place. Even the manual, which used to be pretty exhaustive, can’t hope to cover the behavior of everything any more.

Anyway, the manual is still worth a read (though not on this topic. It’s crap) as you’ll almost certainly find some little thing there you didn’t know. Here’s the web and Books editions

OP is right, Music widget is not working as intended. I don't use the widget, but I installed just to test what op is complaining. He is right, this is a bug in iOS 12.

After a full day on my IPP it reads 9m
After 10 hours on my 8+ it reads 3m.

Yeah, it is incorrect.

Then again I have found most of the info on Battery is incorrect. :(
