I'm new to the iphone so i dont know how to change to add custom system sounds (email sound, txt sound, slide sound). i saw one video on youtube but it was for a jailbroken phone. is there any other way to do this? thanks!

Do you have to jailbreak to add custom system sounds?

Unfortunately, no...currently there's no way to do it other than to jailbreak the phone. Apple has locked down access to the file system, which is necessary to change out those sounds. While there's always the slim possibility an app might be developed for the App Store to do such a thing, at present I do not think it is possible for such an app to work.
