Do you prefer the default iOS mail app?

I currently use the outlook app but it has gotten ridiculously so lately. In fact it is so slow and I often wonder if I am appreciably wasting time and phone speed trying to use this app set up. The push mail is one thing but if I’m ever waiting on something I know to just force a refresh. Am I missing something? Are newer iPhones still as slow with the outlook app?

Slow is subjective, but I use both the Apple Mail app and Outlook with iCloud and an Exchange account configured on both. I much prefer Apple Mail on mobile devices for the UI, but I like running them on the same device to see if there's any nuances between the two. Speed-wise, I haven't noticed a difference and it seems good on my iPhone and iPad Pro.

I've tried so many third-party email clients, but I keep coming back to Mail. I of course have a wish list of features, but it's actually surprisingly powerful if you start digging in to it. Same on the MacOS side of things.
I like the iOS Mail UI sooo much better than Gmail.
Oh yeah, Gmail looks like crap to me. If I wanted that UI experience I'd just get an Android. Gmail crashes a lot to boot. I only keep it around for quickly setting up blocks for unwanted senders that find their way into my inbox.

I prefer iOS mail app over all. I've tried them all. But I do keep my work email on the Gmail mail app. I try and separate work from personal. Every now and then I bounce my work email to the iOS mail app but get sucked up into work emails when I'm not on the clock.

Would be nice if we could shortcut inboxes to separate iOS mail app icons.

Tried many others. Use only Mail app after that for reliability and security. Not much features and customization though.

If you have an Apple Watch, the stock mail app does the best job showing emails on the watch. If not, the stock app works ok overall, although there are annoyances with syncing in the background a lot of the time.

On the iPad, no. I use AltaMail because it has full-screen support for reading email - in the iOS app, you can't hide the sidebar.

I thought you could do that?

Yes I prefer the Apple mail app. I don’t like that all third party apps require you to hand over your password to their service. Instant no.

This is the case with me on my 11, the last 3 versions of the Outlook app have become slow and when reading the email on my Mac it doesn't clear the notification on my 11 like it used to.

I've tried countless other mail apps and always come back to the stock mail app. Ultimately it does what I need it to. I don't need a ton of bells and whistles anyway.
