Just curious. I like to buy all my movies and TV shows through iTunes on my iMac but the file sizes add up quick. For example, I recently purchased the entire series of a TV show. I chose not to download it, but instead I have been just streaming it to save space and it seems to be working fine. Do most of you guys who use iTunes actually save the content to an external drive or do you just stream it all? Thanks

Harddrives are cheap, downloading once and storing it forever is no problem as far as I'm concerned.

For me, I keep all my music local (downloaded) because I have two iPods that require the media files (an iPod touch that lives in my car plus an iPod classic that has no network connection).

Moreover, I fly occasionally where I don't have access to streaming media.

Heck, even the local commuter train doesn't have WiFi and cellular data connections are iffy in many locations along the rail line.

At home, I am happy to stream content on my Apple TV, iTunes, and Roku.

I am simply not at home all the time.

Ultimately, you should do what works best for you. That's why Apple offers various options. Stream your content or download it. Apple wants you to be a happy customer. We don't care how you access your content and you shouldn't care how we access ours.
