I am training to be a radiologist, and we obviously do a ton of dictation. Even our software on the computers has a training mode where we read that stupid little paragraph until the software adapts to our voice.

Do you think apple would be better served by adding this to siri to help people's voice be better understood?

Furthermore, apple should also allow us to train the proper pronunciations of contacts in our address book. I hate having to mispronounce my own last name to get siri to recognize it.

I would happily sit and do some training for Siri. Anything that can help it understand my Scottish accent would be great.

I'm not sure that the training modes really help as much as they are made out to.

As for the names, there's Phonetic First/Last Name fields that you can turn on and enter the correct pronunciation, which helps a lot. Probably easier to do in Address Book on the computer, but I think it can be done directly on the iPhone too.
