just curious what others think with iOS naming . Do you think they will copy Mac OS X and the next version will be iOS X ? Or do you think they will just keep going with incriminating the number ?

Yeah, the numbering will get tedious. Hope it doesn't get as ludicrous as El Capitan.
I was thinking about that too. He said "just wait" and I don't know if that means just wait till you get used to it, or just wait till you see what else there is. watchOS is weird because iOS has the lowercase i because iPhone, iPad, etc. The Apple watch is spelled either Watch or WATCH in the marketing, so that doesn't make sense.
Also, it'll be weird for their to be OS X and iOS 10. I really doubt they would do iOS X. Maybe they'll go macOS, iOS, and watchOS next year. And just add the date to it. macOS 2016. hmmm.
macOS, iOS and watchOS is what I was thinking, but I don't think they will be dropping the numbers. I don't see iOS going to X but possibly to 10.
I don't see the numbered versions as much a problem as them not coinciding with the iPhone that is released at that time (iPhone 5 on iOS 6, iPhone 6 on iOS 8, etc.). Similarly dislike how the iPhone 5 was not really the 5th iPhone, and so on. They should have called the iPhone 4s the iPhone 5 and just forget about the S's.
People wouldn't be too happy about that given that the design didn't change and they would expect a different design in a brand new version (rather than an improved/upgraded previous version).
I see your point. If this keeps up, we will get to the iPhone 10 with iOS 16, and that just makes no sense. They should have called the iPhone 3g the iPhone 2, then 2s, 3, etc. I'm sure eventually they'll do something to change either the naming of the phones or the iOS versions.
I don't think there's some "sense" that needs to be there. The hardware and software are separate things, there doesn't have to be a specific numbering connection between the two. It really doesn't exist with other systems or anything like that.

YEAH, and I hope Ipad 2 and Ip4s be dropped next year!!!!!! and IOS 11 be only 64 bit devices, no 32 bit!!....or maybe Apple want Ipad 2 to get IOS 10
I think they're only phasing out the "i" for things that are not iDevices. Services, apps, and devices that don't use iOS. But iPhone, iPad, and iOS are here to stay.
They will definitely drop A5 devices. If you recall on Monday, Craig Federighi said they will not drop any devices this year, therefore it's obvious that they will/have to next year.
They are not using iWatch as Swatch own the trademark iSwatch and iWatch i too close to their name.
That will NEVER happen to the iPhone, at least, not until sales drag way behind.
There's a big psychological study that shows that part of the popularity of a product can be linked to how long that name has been around. It's been accepted that one of the reasons people like the Camry or Maxima so much is that the name has existed since before they were kids. There's a reason it's still called Windows and that it didn't adopt another name, despite some of the many changes it's gone through. Sure, there are other reasons why people like them so much, but the nomenclature is definitely a factor.
I think in the long run, the os will all get merged together similar to Windows 10 but probably not for a while.
