I don't know that much about the graphic card issue on the new iMac, but is it possible that Leopard can fix the drivers of the HD2x00? Does the OS have any say on how a driver behaves? One can only hope.

Since Leopard comes out in mere hours, can anyone with an iMac try out some games after they install Leopard to see if there's a difference?

Leopard has definitely NOT fixed the driver issues. My iMac was unusable with the upgraded drivers so I had to roll back and it worked perfectly. Installed Leopard tonight and iMac is unusable once more. The bad drivers are IN Leopard. Watch out!

Gotcha. Thanks for the reply. It would be nice if you could let us (i.e. me) know if later updates do fix it. I have been planning on buying an iMac so over a month now but I want to make sure everything runs fine on it out of the gate. I don't have time to be re-installing the OS if it freezes a lot.

I am really surprised that Leopard didn't fix the freezing.

I wasnt
And if it did fix it, there would have been an uproar from alu iMac owners with the problem, that had no intention of upgrading to 10.5

Lol.yesterday i saw 2 freezed imacs in apple premium reseller store..so... :D

Seems it's very difficult to make an OS for 'all these different Macs', especially for the newest models. Good thing that Apple makes both hardware and software, great!

I'm certain 10.4.11 is sat there ready with these fixes incorporated. Unfortunately Apple aren't going to release it if there's a possibility of overwhelming their support departments. So until the Leopard calls start to subside we're going to have to wait.

I don't have the freezing issue (mine's got the 2400XT) but I do get the Wifi not connecting automatically issue. Hoping it will get fixed soon. Even though my Leopard arrives tomorrow I'm sticking with Tiger for a couple of weeks.
