I was just thinking, one day Steve will need to find himself a replacement. Your thoughts?

I don't think Steve will leave till he drops. Even if he does leave as CEO, he will likely still remain on the board of directors.

Then Johnny Ive the absolute God that he is can take over :cool:

My gut feeling is that it will either be Schiller or someone unknown. Someone with vision and is a great speaker. I think Apple would want to avoid brining in someone like um... I don't know... a Soda CEO?

"Do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life or do you want to change the world?"

Just my gut feeling.

Steve brought a directed vision, tempered by past fiscal failures ...

Before he got back the R&D was going in 100 different directions, basically the lets try everything method and see what sticks.

---

He knows where he wants to go in 5-10 years and runs off after a goal.

Don't know who can do that, and it is hard to snatch a visionary since they tend to be running their own companies.

---

Heck, even the current methods of operation are contrary to typical Wall Street -- aka, buy revenue with megadebt, and spin off lagging operations.

Doubt Jonathan Ive, he would be too busy designing the next ithingy or macthingy, and I bet he would agree.

No such worries ;

Scott Forestall is going to be running Apple by 2020...(I anticipate a two year transition commencing in 2018)

This guy IS Steve Jobs MkII ( ok he's got his own style but basically you get my drift)

...which is exactly why MS is finished..
