So far the price of M1 devices has not increased, and the Mac Mini even got a $100 price cut. This could change with an update to the iMac as it would be a new form factor with a larger screen. Then again, the current 4K iMac is fairly expensive (although a good value). Another consideration is the LG 4K Ultrafine did not increase in price when going from 21.5" to 24".

What say you?

Here is, what will happen:

24" Display
Apple M2
16 GB memory
256 GB SSD
4x Thunderbolt/USB-C
2x USB-A
1x Ethernet
1x headphones
SDXC card slot

$1,399.00

4K I would say yes, but getting rid of the lowest-end iMac will be foolish business wise, so it will need a replacement. They so far have not increased the base price of any computers with AS. Maybe there will be an M1 and M1X/M2 version of the 24" model, and then M1X only for the 30"/32"

Based on my experience so far with the base-model MBA M1, I've already got my credit card number ready for this iMac when it comes. I do not expect the price to increase, although I know the base model will have 8GB of RAM so the age-old debate can continue to rage. :)

But it seems like the lowest-end iMac is basically history already.
