I ask because I’m considering getting the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro.

The price of the thing is a bit steep and want to make sure I’ll keep using it if I decide to upgrade my iPad Pro in the future.

I’m trying to be a bit more frugal, but the Folio Keyboard I currently have is a bit cramped for me to type in when using it on my lap.

If I decide to make the purchase, I hope to keep using the Magic Keyboard on future iPad Pros.

most likely. not sure why apple would make the magic keyboard irrelevant after one year. the ipad pro's design is one of my favourites and looking forward to the iPhone 12.

I highly doubt it. People would be furious if the original Magic Keyboard didn't work on any future iPad Pro.

As I have said elsewhere, my guess is that the pro design won’t change for quite a few years (other than internal and screen changes), and that if anything the keyboard design may change before the ipad pro does...

The pro design in the past lasted two generations. There is no guarantee this will change for the better now just because the magic is in the keyboard name. Get it if it’s valuable to you but don’t expect it to stick around forever.

In Apple terms, the iPad Pro 2020 is still a relatively new design so I can’t see it changing much beyond perhaps new color options. The thickness might change a bit if Apple decides to strengthen it

I doubt it. The design in the actual iPad Pro is a lot future-proof. I’ll only expect processor and display updates in the next years. Also a relocation for the front camera would be great

I don't think there's a significantly different way to design the tablet, especially considering the Apple Pencil 2 charging on the side. Imo it will be the same design for at least another 3 to 4 years.

I do wish Apple really design stronger structure, as the bending issue is just not good optic.

I think it will have the same design given that touch ID ipad is still around for ages now. I don't foresee big changes for another 2 years which is great. The design stands out. Its still a nice piece of tech and most tablets don't even come close to its design.
