Do you think they were just telling me this?

I went to my local apple store, and they said they do not have the new airs in stock today, he said they would get them this week and to check later. I was verryyyy bummed i was so excited! Then i got on here and read stuff about how they werent allowed to sell until tomorrow. I called again later in the day and they said the same thing. But i was just wondering if maybe they really do have them in stock, but they are just telling me they don't since they can't sell them until tomorrow. And if they really don't have them in stock is it possible they would get them overnight so they'd have them tomorrow morning?

They're officially not supposed to sell until tomorrow. If you get a manager who will break the rules for you, lucky for you, but that manager might get into some trouble for it.

I don't even think it's any sort of decision, the sales system just has not been updated yet. I spent 40 minutes earlier today in an Apple store trying to buy one (I had the box in hand), but they were unable to ring it up because it wasn't in the computer system. That particular store has no idea what's going on, so it doesn't seem they have been given any instructions to not actually sell them, but rather, Apple is failing to get the sales system up fast enough.

Guaranteed unless there's some sort of accident that destroys all their shipments. I spoke with 2 stores today who told me that without a doubt, they'd have new Airs tomorrow, coming in on a freight shipment.
