iOS 9 came and gone and still no default apps feature.

My hope is that Apple is really perfecting how it would work before release. Granted, Apple may be behind on some features, but when they execute, their implementation is alot simplier.

They don't have to default app everything. Just the main components:

Email, Calendar, Music, Browser, Camera, and Maps just to start.

Highly doubt Apple would allow this, it doesn't seem the Apple way. They'll feel like their compromising on their OS experience if they were to allow users to set default apps.

Unless they drop the whole security act, or in other words one of the pillars of iOS's creation, never.
