As far as the stock gallery app goes on my Note 3, I wanted something better. Well I can say I found the best gallery app out there. It's called QuickPic. Give it a go if you haven't tried it. You don't need system rotation on for your pics to rotate. Big plus for me.

a better place
Fabulous app. Was happy with Gallery, but this is really excellent. Will definitely be using this instead.

Caveat.. its a little bit slower updating a folder with a lot of photos. My camera has 300 photos and I find it a little slower to redraw thumbnails when scrolling through them.

Folks, that's the beauty of Android. You could probably replace almost anything and everything with another, presumably better, app and set it as the default.

Using QuickPic for awhile now. It is also my go-to video player app. I view it under the Gallery (list) setting similar to iOS but with a black background. What is great is you can hide files as well.

My fav version of QuickPic is still v2.8.2. The later versions have this "zoom out" animation which delays it for a split sec when you press the back button. I dont like it. I prefer the older version where when you press back, there is no animation and just instant to the next menu.

On a side note, MovieTube + TubeMate app used together is just freakin' awesome! Just downloaded a few movies the last two days like Jobs (Kutcher flick) and Despicable Me 2. Got The Matrix in 720p. Havent seen it in years. Using those two apps mentioned above along with QuickPic or MoboPlayer for their mini-player just works great together. And Bluetooth transferring the movies to my older Android phone works wonders. Love Android's FREEdom! ;-)
