Hello,

Currently I have an IPad Mini 5 and an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I have been thinking of I should use iCloud photos or not.
Currently I have my iPhone with all the pictures I take locally stored and no pictures on the iPad.

My iPhone currently holds around 7000 pictures.
If I turn on iCloud photos on the iPhone, will it upload all those 7000 pictures to the cloud?

Is it safe?
Is there a risk of loosing images?

Do you use it?
If so, is there anything with it you don’t like?
Did you have any issues or problems?

Thank you,
Regards.

I don't want to live without iCloud Photos. It makes everything so easy. I've never had a problem with losing photos or managing them on multiple devices ever since it was introduced. I feel safe and confident about using it.

I really like it. Nice to have all my photos on all my devices. Only issue for me is the inability to have a single store for both my and my wife's photos. Best we can do is to share albums.

I like good backups so all photos go to iCloud and then are synced to my Mac. The full resolution photos there are then backed up with the rest of my files. In your current scenario, if you lose your phone you lose all your photos.
