As the title says, Do you guys use the “Bedtime” feature of the clock App? Is it ment to be a replacement for the Alarm feature?

and lastly, do you think that having the “Bedtime” feature enabled has a negative effect on overall battery life?

I sleep with my watch, so I use it and set it five minutes before my regular alarm so I get a pre wake up. Also use a sleep tracking app. Not sure why, but it’s fun.

Which sleep tracking app do you use?

I like it better than the alarm because it starts at a low volume and slowly increases it until you turn it off. The alarm is set to one volume level so it can be a bit too much depending on your overall volume setting

I use it for this reason in addition to the choice of tones being much more peaceful. They bring me slowly out of sleep rather than jolting me awake and putting me in a bad mood to start the day.

Having purchased an Apple Watch over a week ago... I don't know why I didn't remember about the Bedtime feature. I'll be doing this tonight! --- What you stated is why I hate alarms so much. That morning jolt puts you in a negative mood all morning.

I've used it since it was released for the same reason. Takes me out of my sleep slowly instead of jarring me like a normal alarm. Plus you can control the volume separately. I hated having to lower the volume at night and then remembering to have to raise it in the morning.

This! My wake up tone is First light.. However one thing is with my hours working longer sometimes I'm still at work when it says Go to bed by so and so time.. I don't like the options they give you

My wife and both use it. Love this feature because as stated it brings you awake gently. We have set our alarms up with different tones, since we have to alternately wake up earlier or later than the other and have learned to “ignore” each other’s alarms.

Agreed. Being able to disable the reminders would be nice. I know what time I need to go to bed.

I like the bedtime reminders -- I can get caught up with geeking out (or watching TV) and lose track of the time at night.

A 'disable' option for folks who don't use them makes sense, though. Apple is so weird about that kind of stuff sometimes. "Who wouldn't want to use this feature, no need for a disable option, right guys?!?!?" Ugh. lol

Yeah that makes sense. I'm REALLY not a morning person so I'm always very mindful about getting my full 8.5 hours (or more) and usually am either getting ready for or in bed by the time the reminder comes in.

I am like that as well. I get caught up in whatever I am doing at night and lose track of time. The reminder is sometimes handy.

Should they add a way to disable the reminder? Probably. But to be honest I don’t find it to be all that intrusive. Maybe not intrusive enough, since I fail to notice it more often than not hahaha.

Times 20....This is why I love bedtime.

The reminder to go to sleep is nice...even though I ignore it most nights....but love the way it wakes me up. Love that it only does it on weekdays. Love the way I can simply slide the bar to change the wake up time when I'm flying out early or know I can sleep in....

I do use it.

It works well and I do not see any adverse effect on the battery life.

Moreover, the noise it makes is much nicer and gentler than the alarm noise. :)

One thing I would like to see added (and it’s entirely possible I am just missing it) is the ability to add more than one “Bedtime” for different days. My schedule alternates where I have some days I start earlier and end earlier and others I start later and end later. So I would like a separate wake up for Tuesday and Thursday so that it differs a from Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Edit: I realize I can do that with the Alarms, but I can’t find a way to do it with wake up

The way around it for now until my shift goes back to normal is in bed by 10 PM and wake at 5:30 AM but normally I'm home by 7 but tired enough I'm well asleep before 10.

I tried it once, but with how irregular my sleep cycles are it's really of no use for me personally. One of these days I'm going to try it for a week and see how it does. I've heard good things from friends who actually have regular work schedules, and well, lives in general.

Don’t you have to tell it when you go to bed? I have no idea half of the time, I’ll be watching a YouTube video and then bam here I am at 0630 waking up

I use Bedtime regularly. I like the tones used and I like that it starts low and then intensifies until you’re awake.
